10 must-have makeup items for sassy ladies

Hello beauties, Amy here, The Daily Sass' resident makeup junkie.

Here are just a few of my favourite products I feel are essential to be in your makeup bag if you're obsessed like me.

Obviously some people prefer to wear less makeup, some prefer full glam and some not at all and that is absolutely fine, as long as you are all feeling beautiful!

But... keep reading if you want to see my top 10 products to complete your makeup bags.

1. Primer.

Possibly one of the most important steps to any makeup look is to get the skin looking as flawless and poreless as possible.

This will give you a sleek base to apply your chosen foundation/BB cream too. Using the right primer will ultimately keep your skin looking healthy and keep your makeup looking impeccable throughout the day and into the night.

2. Foundation/BB cream/tinted moisturiser.

This is an important product because ultimately it turns the skin into a blank canvas for you to add dimension with other products, such as contour/bronzer. A good foundation can leave your skin looking fresh and natural, with no discolouration.

Rest assured though, if you suffer with acne prone skin, there is a product out there for everyone. I’ll be putting up a post dedicated to people with acne… just like me!

3. Setting powder.

Setting the product that is already on your face is an important process of keeping your makeup looking flawless. It will ensure that your makeup stays on all night and it’s a must-have to keep in your clutch on nights out, as it will be perfect to take away any excess oil that may leave you looking like the disco ball on the dancefloor.

4. Bronzer/contour.

Contour is so important as it enhances your facial structure through the makeup that you use. It’s important to blend this product to achieve a natural looking bone structure, without looking like you have steaks of brown all over your face.

To achieve those perfectly sculpted cheekbones, a bronzer or a contour kit is ideal, but whatever you chose make sure it's subtle to add that extra dimension.

5. Blusher.

When I started wearing makeup about 10 years ago, blusher was our contour #NotAGreatLook. Now, I try to focus on using a small amount of blusher on the apples of my cheeks to give me that natural rosy look.

6. Highlighter: Glow, glow, glow!

My favourite makeup step of all. Highlighter is essential if you want to sparkle and shine. Add a fair amount of highlighter to the highest point of your cheekbones, the cupid's bow and the bridge of your nose to highlight your best assets.

7. Lip balm/lipstick/gloss.

Hydrating the lips is the absolute key to achieve a perfect pout! It’s imperative to have a lip balm or gloss that makes your lips feel soft and lipstick ready.

High-end product: Kylie Jenner Lip Kit £30

8. Eyebrow powder/cream.

Eyebrows are the building blocks of the face. They shape the face, and if done well, they can make you #slay. Be careful to choose the right shade or you could end up looking slightly odd.

Drugstore product: Barry M Eyebrow Kit £5.99

9. Mascara: make those lashes GROW!

Long lashes are beautiful and easily accessible with the right mascara. Falsies are always an option but at #TheDailySass we think natural is beautiful.

Drugstore product: Rimmel Scandal Eyes £7

10. Setting spray: spray and slay.

Set that makeup by spritzing your face. It doesn’t have to be expensive, it just has to work. It can keep your makeup looking flawless and in place for much longer than it would without!
