10 reasons why drinking is good for you
Ok, so while drinking alcohol obviously isn’t as good for your health as having a smoothie, there are definitely still some benefits as mentioned below!
1. Cocktails could actually be beneficial to your health. Yes, you heard me right – cocktails with fresh juices contain lots of vitamin C and some mixers even have medicinal properties!
3. You could live for longer than non-drinkers. Studies show that girls who drink less than two alcoholic drinks a day could be reducing their risk of death by a massive 18 per cent!
4. Alcohol can help to decrease chances of developing dementia. Studies show moderate drinkers are 23 per cent less likely to develop cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
5. Drinking gin has multiple benefits. These include fighting off illnesses, improving your digestion and keeping your skin looking young.
6. Alcohol can help to fight cancer.
7. Beer has fewer calories than skimmed milk or orange juice. So, if you want to lose weight, why not go on the beer diet? (We say this with sarcasm… maybe!)
8. It de-stresses you. That lovely pint at the end of a horrible day can help to de-stress you, making you happy and live longer!
9. Alcohol makes you smarter. Maybe it doesn’t feel like it when you wake up after a big night out, but studies have shown people who drank two pints of beer during a series of bar games solved 40 per cent more problems correctly and came up with their answers 3.5 seconds faster than studies participants that were sober.
10. It gives you stronger bones. A glass of wine is said to increase production of estrogen and other hormones that are essential for healthy bones.
So, anyone fancy a pint?
