Aoife's top pick: Lush' Dark Angels Cleanser
Let’s face it: basically all girls love Lush, and if you don’t, I’m convinced that you haven’t tried enough products.
Although the bath bombs are amazing, there is so much more to this amazing company other than the colourful fizzing you see all over Instagram. If you're bored of simply soaking with bubbles, try something new; those looking for a natural skin care product can look no further when it comes to my all-time fave.
My all-time favourite product has to be the Dark Angels exfoliating cleanser, which is a thick paste you mix with a small amount of water to make the perfect consistency for your skin. A little bit really does go a long way, so the £7.25 price tag is nothing for what you get.
Okay, so I admit that I only picked this product up because it looked and sounded cool. It’s the blackest of black and with a name like Dark Angels, I literally couldn’t resist despite not reading the tagline properly. I’m so glad I made this aesthetic-based choice because it’s now the one product I can’t imagine my skincare routine without.
If you have combination skin and live for more natural products, then I’d really recommended this cleanser. It’s made up mostly of powdered charcoal, avocado oil, black sugar and Rhassoul mud, all of which are known for their health benefits.
The charcoal and black sugar gives it the exfoliating effect that isn’t too harsh on
the skin, creating a beautiful glow as it scrubs away dry skin. My skin seems to hate chemicals, only breaking out when I use anything skin care related that has chemicals in it. Paired with my trusty tub of coconut oil, my skin is left feeling both smooth and refreshed without the worry of a protest spot appearing.
Yes, it does look a little bit scary when you first put it on, as it's a thick black paste that makes your eyes look terrifying. The feeling of soft skin makes it worth while though - and hey, even if you don't like it, you could use it and just hide behind a curtain to scare your friends.
