A look back at London Fashion Week
Everyone knows February is the month for fashion, and what better place to get to know the autumn and winter trends than at London Fashion Week.
One of our favourite parts of the month is getting to see what kinds of outrageous things designers are doing next – and let me tell you, they're doing some really whacky things.
Firstly, we have to talk about Mulberry, who sent multiple models down the runway in what looked like a poncho made out of a duvet. Yes, you heard me right – Mulberry have decided to make all our wildest dreams come true by making fashion out of our biggest love affair.
Don't want to get out of bed? Fine, just slip into one of these. Struggling to deal with how cold it is outside, and all you want is your duvet? Great, Mulberry have that covered.
But seriously though, why is it only now that someone has made this creation?
However, if wearing your duvet outside to join in on your daily activities isn’t quite your style (who even are you?), maybe Topshop Unique has something for you. Including lots of floral patterns and stripes on lots of silky materials, we can totally see these items making an appearance in our wardrobe.
Bora Aksu’s collection showcased beautifully how gingham will transition from summer into the colder months, in a more relaxed office-style look, featuring culottes and suit jackets. The collection also featured lots of lovely fabrics and textures, mainly frills, making each piece look more glamourous than the last.
If you have more of a rock-chic style don’t worry, as Versus Versace perfectly demonstrated how to make the catwalk look like something from Nirvana’s dreams. Featuring black, black and more black, the designs included thick fur coats, lots of zips, and big chunky boots.
House of Holland had us gawping at their designs, which featured clashing patterns like never before. Strangely though, the collection worked so well, leaving me wishing I could own every single piece (apart from maybe the bizarre patterned cowboy hats most of the models were wearing!).
